Founder of Wide Iris, Kevin Burget has been writing, directing, editing shooting and producing in the commercial and nonprofit worlds for over 25 years.  His shorts and documentaries have aired on PBS and garnered top honors at festivals across the U.S. and internationally, including the Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival; and have screened at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. He formed Wide Iris in 2000 to gather the talents of working filmmakers to create pieces promoting social justice, environmental sustainability and the arts, particularly in the byways of the nonprofit world.

Kevin has taught film at The New School in NYC and St. Michael’s College in VT, and holds a B.A. from Yale and an M.F.A. in filmmaking from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Recently his proposal to produce films on sustainable land use in the Hudson Valley was awarded a grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities. His screenplay for the feature film, BEECHER, is in development.
